Discover the ‘Secret City’ : Bike and Brew

Join us for a leisurely guided bicycle ride through Los Alamos. A place of ancient village sites, spectacular scenery, diverse wildlife, high-altitude recreational opportunities, world-class cultural activities, fascinating history, and world changing technology developments. Known as the ‘Secret City’, due to the remote location up the Hill from Santa Fe and its selection for the top-secret Manhattan Project mission.

Your adventure begins with a shuttle trip up the beautiful Pajarito Plateau (in a 15 passenger van, or on your own) into Los Alamos, then a guided bike ride to explore art, outdoor recreation, and the history and science of Los Alamos. Peddle along a paved trail with canyon views and down local streets in the downtown district and see set locations from the recent Oppenheimer movie. You’ll also travel through the newly created “art tunnel.”The tour will end at Bathtub Row Brewing for a refreshing drink, and chat about historical Bathtub Row and places to visit in LA. Capture the day with a photo in the bathtub or by the Oppie mural. You may want to extend your stay after the Conference (or before) to experience the abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities near Los Alamos including jaw dropping hiking, biking, and national parks.
