10 Jun First Mesa Trail Mountain Biking Ride (Bike Provided)
First Mesa Trail 7 miles
This scenic mountain bike trail offers a perfect introduction to desert riding, with a smooth, flowing singletrack that’s ideal for beginner to intermediate riders. Winding gently through vibrant red rock terrain, the trail follows natural contours with mellow climbs and easy turns that make for a confidence-boosting ride.
Along the way, riders weave through juniper and sagebrush, with occasional slickrock patches providing just enough variety to keep things interesting without being technical. The highlight of the ride is a stunning red rock overlook perched above the west side of Gallup—a perfect spot to catch your breath and take in sweeping views of the skyline framed by desert cliffs and distant mountains.
Accessible and fun, this trail is a local favorite for casual spins, family outings, or those new to mountain biking who want a taste of classic red rock scenery without the intensity of more advanced routes.
