Earthship Experience
Tour Description: Experience what it’s like to live “off the grid” by visiting an Earthship community, pioneered in Taos, and learning about their design. This guided tour will include an educational tour and lecture on the 6 Earthship Design Principles, history of Earthships, and Q&A, as well as a guided walking tour of an original and new Earthship, and in and around a few of our educational buildings.
Total Trip Time (leaving parking lot of Sagebrush Hotel to returning): 2.5hrs
Meeting Times: Friday Oct. 7 at 12:30 pm
Where to Meet: The Earthship Visitor Center, 2 Earthship Way, Tres Piedras NM, located about 1.5 miles north of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge
Tour Leader: Vanessa Smith
Actual Tour Time: 1.5 hour
Terrain: Flat paved, concrete, flagstone and dirt
What to Bring: (Water bottle, sun-screen, comfortable walking shoes.)
Group Limit: 20
Age Limit: All are welcome! Please be reminded that we will be walking on some difficult terrain for some, and we are also at 7000 ft in elevation.
Difficulty Level: Easy
Special Directions, Safety Restrictions, etc.: Please sign our Liability Waiver when you arrive and just be mindful of your surroundings while on the tour. I have attached a copy of our Agreement if anyone would like to read through it.
