Total Trip Time (leaving parking lot to returning): 12:30 to 6:30 – 6 hours total.

What to Bring: All participants need to bring sun screen, a hat to keep the sun off and sturdy shoes like a hiking boot or tennis shoe, no open toe shoes. October could be hot or cold so we suggest weather appropriate clothing and something to drink.

Group Limit: 12 people for a Ride-A-Long Tour (riding inside a Black Bear Vehicle) 16 additional people can register where they drive their own vehicle and follow the Black Bear tour leader. See vehicle requirements below.

Age Limit: There is no specific age limit, however, infants are highly discouraged. Seat belt and car seat standards are expected to be followed at all times.

Difficulty Level: Trail rating 5. Rutted and/or rocky roads. No shelves. Rocks up to 12″ and water crossings up to 12″ with possible currents. Passable mud/sand. Moderate grades to 15 degrees. 6″ holes. Side hill to 20 degrees. ATV’s, side by sides, 4WD/high ground clearance vehicle required. No width problems. TRAIL RECOVERY GEAR recommended (STRAPS, HI-LIFT JACKS, EXTRA U-JOINTS/PARTS). Trail rating 6. Quite rocky or deep ruts. Rocks to 12″ and frequent shelves to 6″. Loose sand and mud may require checking before proceeding. Moderate grades to 20 degrees. Side hill may approach 30 degrees. ATV’s, side by sides and 4WD necessary. In a stock vehicle, a second attempt may be required on some obstacles. Caution may be required with wider vehicles. 35” TIRES + LOCKERS (1 locker MIN) RECOMMENDED. TRAIL RECOVERY GEAR (STRAPS, HI-LIFT JACKS, EXTRA U-JOINTS/PARTS). These are the difficulty rating of the trails that the tour will be on for the day. There will not be any water crossings. The trails do require a small truck, SUV or side by side, no crossovers. Special Directions, Safety Restrictions, etc.: Attached you will find a participant’s waiver and pre-tour vehicle inspection. Vehicles not having the required equipment will not be able to participate. Waivers are required to be signed by all persons on the tour. Inspection sheets and waivers will be collected before leaving the parking lot at 109 Pinon.

Tour Description: The tour will be a Tip Toe 4×4 Off Road Vehicle Tour through the Chokecherry Canyon / Glade Run Recreation Area, with stops at scenic outlooks, points of interest and geological arches.
